Saw "Jonah Hex" this weekend. It was good. It wasn't great though. I give it 2 and a half bullets out of five. A half a bullet just because they made a JONAH HEX movie. Josh Brolin was great as Jonah. John Malcovich seemed bored. Meagan Fox was all right in her role. The only down side, for me, was that it wasn't weird enough. A big gun. A weapon of mass destruction. That was the bad guy's plan. How underwhelming. From what rumors I heard before this movie went into production, the plan was for Turnbull to raise the dead to reclaim the south. People have complained about the way Jonah gets his scar and his 'supernatural powers'. One, Turnbull branding him is PART of his scar. The hot tomahawk to the face finishes it out. And Jonah's supernatural powers? It actually works in the context of the story.

If you want to go see it, I say MATINEE it.

Sorry for the lack of blog and the late posting of pages. I worked A-Kon this weekend and I am TIRED. Four days of non-stop work and trying to sell things. On the plus side there are a LOT of cute girls and beautiful woman. Who like to dress up in outfits. Some very skimpy. Thank you. Okay, High Plains Warlock starts up again. Have fun. Oh, and page 60 has my favorite line in the whole story.

I'll keep this short. I'm teary-eyed over the series finale of Lost. Next week will be skip-week. Sorry about that. I was going to show the covers of High Plains Warlock, if it became a mini-series but those files got lost in the exterior hard-drive crash that almost sank this web-comic. Not sure what I'll put up but I think I can come up with something.

 5/16/2010

I keep forgetting I wanted to do a commentary track for High Plains Warlock in this Blog. I'll get to it soon.

Just recently saw the new Jonah Hex trailer. I'm not sure how I feel about it. It looks like it could be good, weird B-movie/spaghetti western OR it could be a movie that even Syfy. The motion comic that adapts the Joe Lansdale/Tim Truman jonah Hex Two Gun Mojo is pretty cool though. And I checked my files and found out I started High Plains Warlock on April of 2003 and finished it in February of 2005. So not eight years I kept thinking of.

Still got Nothin'. I am still working on the story that will show up after HPW is done. It'll run around 100 pages or so. I'm just about to start page 23. Goin' on about 3 pages a week. I am hopeful it will be done by the time HPW is finished. I'm debating to either to tone work OR to do it in COLOR. Haven't decided if I want to take that step yet. I'm having little enough time just drawing. We'll see.

I am having fun re-reading High Plains Warlock. It holds up pretty well, if I do say so myself. Let me know what YOU think.

I got nothin'.

'Kick-Ass' kicked ass. The new Dr. Who is cool. Still working on new stuff that will show up after High Plains Warlock.

Some of y'all can e-mail me to let me know what you think and donate if you can.

I hope my nine fans like the 'High Plains Warlock'. I did it almost eight years ago and it's been sitting on the shelf ever since. It has quite a few rough edges, but I think the story is pretty good if I do say so myself. I did some comic no-no's. The least of which is the lettering abutting against the word balloons. I drew the word balloons on the page and did not factor in the shrinkage as I sized the page for publication. Oopsie. Also, I fixed my DONATE button. If anyone want to, give it a try. I would like a new TV eventually. :)

Happy Easter! It's Skip-Week here at Roam. Hope you enjoy. It was fun putting the pages together. A little behind the scenes stuff is fun.

 3/26/2010

And 'Hell Comes To Helldorado' is done. I hope y'all liked it. Judging from my stats...not so much apparently. But I am just starting out and the genre I love has its fans but it's not a fan favorite, as genre's go. Next week is a skip week but I put together some neat stuff that I hope that you all like. Oh and I got the new code for donations, but I have yet to install it. Give me a couple of days and it'll be up and ready to take your money.

I really worked on making the Big Fight something brutal and rough. Choreography can be fun!

Oh and it's my one month anniversary! Wow! And some thought I would never make that milestone. Give the raspberry to the nay-sayers, flip them the bird and tell them that I did one month, I could do another just as easy!

Thanks to loyal reader, Gary Beason, I now know that my e-mail linky was not working (it is now) and my donate button is not working also(still working on that one) Gary is going to get a free sketch for his notification. Yay Gary!

Y'all are aware you can send me an e-mail and let me know what you think so far.

NEW PAGES! And this time with DIALOGUE! And a SPECIAL GUEST STAR! When I finish this first tale, I'll tell you a story of how I came up with this particular ditty and where it was originally going to appear, plus some behind-the-scene sketches and stuff. That'll be the skip-week on April 5th if my math is correct.

 2/27/2010

Wow.

23 unique visitors in the first week. That's cool. Granted, there are several billion people on the planet who haven't seen my site. But still... now if that could expand exponentially every week that would be awesome. And then get people to donate money. so I could do this for a living. Or just one who donates a cool million, that would be cool. I'd be the first web-cartoonist out of the Bahamas. Or Cabo. Just stopping drawin' to suck down another mojito.

Yeah right, and Rosario Dawson and Kaley Cuoco are going to have a cat fight over who'd be going home with me tonight.

 2/22/2010

Updated the Other Stuff page, to include my 24 hour comic. Enjoy.

 2/21/2010

I secretly post the first of my web-comic on Sunday to see if anyone notices. Of course, I was suppose to post last Monday, but I'm curious if anyone is looking.

2/14/2010

Due to technical problems, Roam-thecomic.com will not be going live in the foreseeable future.

To save time and frustration and the job of repeating myself, I'll post it here. Apparently, Wednesday my exterior hard-drive decided to delete ALL of my work for this web-site. EVERY scanned page, EVERY page gray-toned and lettered in Photoshop, EVERY jpg, EVERY logo design and EVERY HTML page is GONE. Over a hundred HTML pages alone.

Everything was ready to go. I was just about to update the links page and start the upload process.

However, every thing else is still nice and secure on the ol' F: drive. Now, I had saved everything in the My Documents section of which there are 27 files still there.

Everything else (see above) is GONE.

I will be slowly assembling my work together. I have to re-scan all 30 pages of the first story I was to post here. I have to re-letter it from memory. I didn't write a script, per se. I knew the story if not the words, I am slowly coming through this depression and working it out.
