First off, I now have my internet BACK! Apparently, it was
my router AND my phone line acting up. It was nice to watch an
episode of Eureka on Hulu and it only twitched briefly once.
I loves my interwebs. Second, not much exciting news out of San
Diego Comic-Con AGAIN! Most of the stuff I've already heard.
However, Lego getting Marvel and DC liscences it awesome. Meaning
I can get a Green Arrow Lego figure. Maybe if the manage to slip
a western set in I could get a Jonah Hex one. And with the Marvel
one, classic Power-Man/IronFist could be coming done the pike.
oh, and apparently SyFy is going to make a 'Sixth Gun' mini-series,
or at the very least they bought the rights. it all depends on
who the hire to make it.
Oh, and movie review time. Captain America: The First Avenger
is AWESOME! Go see it! if you like Thor, you'll like Captain
America. The cast was perfect. Chris Evans, against my earlier
misgivings, was pitch perfect. Hugo Weaving was sinister as the
Red Skull. My one tiny complaint was they didn't identify the
Howling Commandos. I knew who most of them where, but they could
have identified them by name at least once. Keep your eyes peeled
for a Human Torch cameo at the beginning, and listen for the
reference to 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' reference. And especially
stay past the credits, where you will be treated to a, not a
cameo, but a teaser trailer of the Avengers movie. Awesome.

And this week is done. Not sure if I'm happy with this page.
The panels on the left and bottom work, but the rest...I'm not
to sure about. Oh, well, if art was released with the artist's
satisfaction, we would probably have very little art in the world.
Just means I'll do better with future pages.
Well, I got my comics from Toby. No complete runs, but I got
about 80 out of 125 of the Luke Cage, Power-Man and Power-Man/Iron
Fist comics. Plus, various Jonah Hex, Weird Western Tales, Kamandi,
Jack Kirby Black Panther, Black Goliath, Strikeforce: Morituri,
Logan's Run, Karate Kid, and various other comics. Nearly 200
in all. On one hand, I wish I had the complete runs, but it means
after 10-15 years, I'll actually have a list of stuff to look
for when I go to convention and other stores. Oh wait, that's
a fib, I had a list for the Mike Grell/Chuck Dixon Green Arrow
run. Well, I have a more diverse list now. Plus I got to read,
and own Marvel Premiere: Ballad of Caleb Hammer and I own an
issue of Gunhawks (now I need to get the other 6). Thank you
Back Issue magazine for introducing me to these comics. Now I
must own them. And Toby gave me a great deal too.
Okay then, have a great weekend. I will be seeing Captain
America: The First Avenger tonight. I'll let y'all know what
I think of it on Monday.

It was really fun designing the group of wizards. Originally
there were quite a few more, but I decided it would be more awesome
to see how powerful wizards can be. Only five against thousands.
Not sure if my internet is fully working or not. Not sure what
the problem is/was but I've already priced new routers and such.
Hopefully, it's not something I have to spend any money on, but
if I have to I have to.
On the plus side, a buddy of mine is getting rid of a whole
bunch of his collection. He asked me what I was looking for.
I told him. Mostly, Power-Man/ Iron Fist, Jonah Hex, Scalphunter,
Kamandi and the like. He has a bunch of it. He used to own a
store and have been making deals and buying for years. Not sure
what he wants for them, but we can make a deal and I can pay
off in installments. Awesome. More reading for my birthday vacation.
Yay!
Also, Friday will be the fourth page this week. Almost done
with the drawing of it.
7/19/2011
This weeks pages will be appearing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
and Friday. I was trying to get it together for an uninterrupted
four days like I have been but it ain't happenin'. I've got page
98 halfway pencilled and inked, but after the long drive in the
Texas heat (Satan is jealous of our summers.) with an un-air-condtioned
truck, when I get home my strength is almost sapped. I still
get some artin' done. But it is wearin' on me. C'mon Vacation!
And I gave y'all a fib yesterday. I'm plotted up to page 103.
oopsie.
UPDATE: I have been having severe internet problems at the
house the last couple of days. As in, suddenly I don't have DSL
for hours at a time. I'm posting this late in the day because
of it. Having to do this at work. Hopefully will get this stuff
fixed in a juffy. Not sure my problem is my router, the lines
or what.
7/18/2011
Now when I said four pages a week, I meant it. I've just been
lucky enough to have them all done so that I can have them uninterrupted
Monday through Thursday. Not saying that that'll change, but
if, due to some unfortunate mis-timing or the like, the pages
may be Monday-Wednesday, then Friday. Or in some cases, Tuesday-Friday.
But I will do my best to get it to y'all as soon as possible
though.
I hope all of y'all are enjoying Haig's story. I've actually
got it plotted up through page 105 or so. Then I gots me some
ideas on what comes next. I know what'll happen just not when
i want to produce those pages as opposed to some other bit of
the story.
7/14/2011
Don't know if anyone noticed but I adjusted the lettering
a bit. Just shrunk the type a point. it seems to work a bit better
and it's still legible. Haig's story continues next week. Not
sure if it continues the week after. I have broad strokes of
story that tighten up as I work on the details. Sometimes things
change, sometimes they stay the same. I'm still having fun, though.
As always, Have a Great Weekend, Everyone!
7/13/2011
All four pages are up! 94 PAGES?!?! Wow. Not even to the midway
point either. Still having fun. Still a few characters to introduce.
Still some back stories to give up. Beren and Castigere will
be getting some time to tell their stories, whether they want
to or not. And Dres? Well, we'll be getting to him waaaaaaaaaayyyyy
down the road. There's some stuff that'll just have to wait.
Oh, and it's New Comic Day. Go buy some comics. |
