IDW is without a doubt an evil, evil company. EVIL PURE AND SIMPLE. They've been around for a while but here lately they've been putting out some really nice 'artist' books. I have Volume 1 of Genius Isolated, the Life and Art of Alex Toth sitting on my printer as I type this. Here lately they've been producing Artist Editions. These are 12 X 17 sized books. Each one spotlighting a different artist. The black and white art is scanned as Color, so you can see the bluelines and paste-ups and the brushstrokes, and it's not just some random pages. It's full-fledged stories. In May, they are doing an Artist Edition of Daredevil:Born Again, with art by David Mazzuchelli. Quite simply not only one of the best Daredevil Stories, but some of the best art ever seen in comics EVER. It'll retail for around $130, but you not only get to see the original art as it is, but you get the original covers plus some extras in there too.

But that's not the only reason they are an evil, evil company. Also that month they will be releasing Doug Wildey's Rio. For those that do nor know, Doug Wildey was not only the creator of Jonny Quest, but one of Dave Steven's mentors. Plus he was the model for Peavy in the Rocketeer. One of his labors of love was Rio. An old gunslinger turned government agent riding the west. I thought I had everything Rio, but the book lists at 272 pages, and I think all the Rio books I have may not even equal 100 pages total. It supposed to have the last unfinished Rio story, but outside of that I'm stumped.

EVIL. That's what IDW is. EVIL in ALL CAPS.

Okay, that's it. GO BUY SOME COMICS!

It's sad that the Blockbuster's are closing, but on the plus side used DVD's and Blu Ray's are $6 each. I picked up Conan(2011), Kick Ass and Chocolate on Blu-Ray. I picked up Rango on DVD. Conan and Rango I had not seen when I bought them. Chocolate is an awesome muay thai martial arts movie that i have turned several people on. It's on Netflix for those that want to see it right now.

Rango is something I've wanted to see when I first saw the trailer last year, but it seemed to come and go in the theater. WHICH WAS A MISTAKE. Wow, not only are the visuals stunning, but it is was one tripped-out movie. Now, I will admit the story itself has been done before, but it's the little bits and pieces of design and characters that more than make up for it.

Conan wasn't too bad. I think Jason Mamoa made a near perfect Conan, better than Arnold, or Ralf Moeller, of the Conan TV show. He wasn't the biggest guy, he was lean like a panther, like Robert E. Howard wrote him. The story....had it's moments. Stephen Lang gave the bad guy some complexities I wasn't expecting. The visuals were amazing. Even though Conan's homeland were a bit too pastoral.Well, pastoral until the bad guy attacks and kills them all, that is. And they should have just re-used Basil Pouledoris' score. The one they had just didn't have that umph a Conan movie needs.

As I type this, I have four more episodes to watch of Justified Season 2. Which means I'll start downloading Season 3 on Amazon shortly. I need to do the same for Walking Dead too. But on the other hand they put Supernatural on Netflix so I got that to catch up on. I have some friends that are really enamored of that show. Netflix was acting kooky on my this weekend, but it seemed to work Sunday morning, so who knows.

So I got Justified Season 2 Blu-Ray in the mail Wednesday and stayed up too late watching the first 3 episodes. Such a great, great show.

And that's all I got. I'll talk at y'all on Monday. Oh, I noticed there seems to be some more traffic to my lil' ol' web-comic. If you get a chance, drop me a line or two and tell me what you think of my story so far. I'd love to here from you.

Have a great weekend.

I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day. Due to the amount of people who came into buy gifts for their significant others, quite a few people had a great Valentine's Day. Friday's page will be up on....Friday. Got most of it done, just have to letter and post. And then y'all get to enjoy. That part is important. Y'all's enjoyment.

The movers came and went in 3 hours. They moved out all the heavy stuff that will hopefully all sale for more than hoped for. We'll see.

It's Wednesday. GO BUY SOME...oh, hell...I still haven't read my comics from last week...anyway, GO BUY SOME COMICS!

Happy Pre-Valentine's Day! Hope you got your sweetie something cool that he/she will treasure forever. (I'm not implying that your significant other is a transexual or anything like that. Not that there is anything wrong with that.) Got most of this week's done. 2/3rds, at any rate. I may be posting Friday's page on Saturday, though. Started moving some of my Aunt's into storage, at least the stuff we are keeping, or don't think will make money at auction. The movers for the auction should be picking up the rest of her very heavy furniture and transporting it to the warehouse for sale, provided the snowy slush stuff doesn't freeze the DFW area up today. Part of me would not have a problem with that. They just put Supernatural on Netflix and maybe I'll hunker down and start watching, so I can converse with friends who worship the show.

I bought Justified Season 2 Blu Ray as a Valentine's day gift for myself. Should be here on Thursday. There goes my weekend.

Man, what was with all those commercials being interrupted by that football game last night?

Of course, it could be the greatest Superbowl ever. I have no idea. As I type this, the game is two hours from starting, and as how I don't have television service anymore I'm not going to watch it. I'll catch the commercials online later.

On to other news, this will be the only page this week. No pages on Wednesday or Friday, I'm sorry to say. Still dealing with my aunt's estate. Saturday there was a lot of moving stuff around. Books to Half-Price, the Thomas Kinkade prints being delivered to my Grandma as stipulated in the will, plus moving other stuff around to get to even more other stuff later. Sometime this week my mom is going to get a storage unit to park some of my Aunt's belongings that we aren't going to sell. And I'll be moving that stuff later. For a woman with a two room condo, she had a lot of stuff. I was going to get this weeks pages down, but mentally, physically and psychologically, I just don't have the energy.

Let me recharge, and I'l do my best to get back into the groove next week. See y'all next Monday.

They took Red Dwarf off of Netflix. I was half-way through Season 3. Oh, well, I have 93 other things to watch. Provided they don't take those out in a couple of days too. Finished up re-watching the first season of Justified. Still just a phenomenal show the second time around. And I'd hedge a bet if I watch and re-watch it, it'd still be phenomenal. Now I just wait until they put the second season back on sale so I can re-watch that. I can wait. Wouldn't mind watching it right now, though.

One last thing before I finish this blog, no matter what you think of holidays, if you hate Valentine's Day, Christmas or any other holidays, it is always awesome that Reese's makes their big holiday peanut butter cups. I'm half-way through a package of Reese's Peanut Butter Hearts, and they are GOOOOOOOOD. Nummy, nummy, nummy.

Have a great weekend, y'all.
