EVERY PLACE IS PLAYING CHRISTMAS MUSIC! And in true Spinal Tap style, the volume for it is at 11. Years ago I worked at a pizza place called Pistol Pete's Pizza. For Christmas, they had 1 tape (it was the late 80's) of Christmas music that was played on a loop. And if you worked full time like I did, you heard the same damn songs over and over aND OVER AND OVER, until me and my buddy informed management that if we had to listen to it one more time the store would mysteriously burn to the ground with them in it. So they fixed the situation. They bought 2 different tapes, Elvis sings Christmas and Frank Sinatra sings Christmas...not what we had in mind, but it was better than that 1 DAMN TAPE.

To this day, Christmas music gives me the type of headache that makes me want to commit physical violence. I haven't yet. The only song I can tolerate is Feliz Navidad, for some strange reason.

Anyway, if anyone is looking for a cool gift with a cool movie. The Dollar General has a 'Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs' pack, that has the 2 disc DVD plus an umbrella with the characters on it that when it gets wet, food appears on it. It's only $6. Pretty cool, and you get a cool and very underrated movie to enjoy with the kids in your life and/or the kid in your heart.

Anyway, GO BUY SOME COMICS!

So Friday, I went to the two Arlington Half-Price Books. The South Cooper location still disapoints me. Haven't found much of anything there in quite a while. I did pick up 'Adventure Vol.1', edited by Chris Roberson. It's an anthology of Pulp-inspired stuff by Michael Moorcock, Lou Anders and others. I need laundermat reading.

Then I went to the Lincoln Square location and found the BBC version of 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'. With my 40% coupon, it was around $8. I also found "I was that Masked Man" by Clayton Moore. As a long time Lone Ranger fan, I can't wait to dive into the book. I did manage to get a little over a 200 pages into 'Game of Thrones' this weekend. Read mostly on Friday afternoon, and early Sunday morning. Mostly drawing and one heavy-duty nap on Saturday. I like the fact George RR Martin keeps things moving by constantly changing the viewpoint from character to character and still move the story right along. I think if he keeps it up, he make a career at this writer thing.

Ah, Trytophan. Sweet coma-inducing tryptophan. How I love that wonderful amino acid. So my friend invited me over with her, her kids and her ex-inlaws for Thanksgiving. I did not hear about my uncle hosting Thanksgiving at his house until too late, but much fun was had. I got leftovers to bring, to boot. Not as much as with my family, but hey, leftovers is leftovers. Got turkey, gravy, two different types of stuffing and green bean casserole. Nummy num num. Then came home and drew, after a small nap of course.

Now I said I would be reading today, but I got a 40% off coupon to any one item to Half-Price, so I'm going to run up there in the morning. THEN the reading. Maybe some drawing. Whatever. It's an open three more days. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and great Black Friday and a great rest of the weekend. See y'all on Monday.

Thanksgiving- T-Minus....uh, tomorrow. Hope everyone has been mentally psyching up to abandon any and all dieting plans you may have been working on for the food indulging of Thanksgiving. If I had any I would. Well, some of my Facebook friends have taken a look in. I hope those of y'all who did are going to stick around, or at the very least peruse through my work. Let me know what you think.

Okay, Friday will be another page up. It's all done, just waiting to be posted. I'm hard at work on next weeks pages. I do plan to have one day on my 4 day weekend to read. I already have "Game of Thrones" by that "Beauty and the Beast" guy primed and ready for me to dive into. Let's see if I can get it done. Have a great day of Thanks! See y'all on Friday.

Thanksgiving- T-Minus 3 days and counting. So, y'all got anything to be Thankful for? Let's see, I have job. A job I'm good at, and appreciated for. So I'm thankful for that. I have some good friends. I'm thankful for them. I got a truck that's running. Currently. I'm thankful for that. I have a roof over my head, on a house that's paid for. I know how to cook. I can draw. I can write. Even though, I've made very little money on those three skills, I'm thankful for them. What else? That's all I can think of right now. I may add some more next time I post. Or I may just wish everyone a safe and happy holiday. Turn in Wednesday to find out.

So I have about fifty friends on Facebook, so far. Most of them I've met, some I like. Kidding, I kid. Currently, am not watching Netflix. I still have it, but a friend of mine, Herman, gave me the frist 10 episodes of the current season of 'Sons of Anarchy' and I'm burning through them. About to start the 6th episode. Amazon Streaming, or whatever the name of it is, has the rest, plus Walking Dead right after the episode airs for only $1.99 an episode. Still cheaper than sateillite or cable. Everything else is on Hulu or Netflix. Got no difficulty watching stuff, plus I got books to read and DVD's to watch. Entertainment is not a problem. Anyway, y'all have a good weekend. Next week is Thanksgiving. I will be posting at my reg'lar schedule. I will get a four day weekend, so YAY ME. I'm hoping to get some reading done.

Well, then, I'm on the Facebook. Don't have my picture up, but I have 31 'Friends' so far. Just put it up on Monday night. Figured 'What the Hell?'. If nothing else, I could hopefully direct more traffic to the site. We'll see.

The bank was right. Tuesday morning I could access my bank account. Bought a ham for the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend. I also bought a loaf/log of ground meat. I need two more pounds to make summer sausage. It's easy but labor intensive. Takes a whole day to slow cook. But it tastes nummy nummy. It's my uncles recipe. He shared it with me over a decade ago and I make it once or twice a year. If anybody wants it, I'll share. 5 pounds of meat makes 5 summer sausages. I usually let one cool and eat that for dinner with some sharp cheddar cheese and the rest I put up in the freezer to dole out for the next month or two. If it lasts that long. Which it normally doesn't. Sometimes I give them as gifts. Sometimes.

Anyway, GO BUY SOME COMICS!

Okay, I did not get Season 6, Part 2 of Dr. Who. Due to the holiday, I deposited my paycheck via ATM, and even though I was allowed to use PART of my paycheck on Friday, I am not allowed to use the rest of it until today or tomorrow. Meaning my trip to the grocery store ended in me leaving my groceries and walking out humiliated that I can't get money from MY OWN DAMN PAYCHECK to buy some groceries. I get the fact that banks places hold on checks, and I understand their has to be safeguards, but if I've been putting in the same paycheck from the same employer for SIX YEARS, they could cut a little slack. I found a lot of good stuff too. As I type this on Sunday night, I'm still pissed. Hopefully, the lady I talked to on the phone yesterday is wrong, and my check posts tonight and not MONDAY like she said.

In other news, it was my niece's 5th party on Saturday morning. (A good friend's daughter, no blood relation.) She partied like a rock star at Chuck E. Cheese. A fun time was had by all. And when I say all, I mean the kids. I got her a couple of books, comics of course, 'Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th grade,' and my own personal copy of 'Emily Edison'. She's in her 'Princess' phase, I'm hoping to show that girls can kick butt too. Even though she takes after her mom, so in actuality she already knows that.

I get to the weekend and I got nothing to say. Again. I know some of you love seeing what genius thing I have to say on my blog...

You can stop laughing now. The second part of the sixth season of Dr. Who came out this week. I haven't decided if I'm going to buy it now or wait until I can find it at Movie Trading Company for $13 like I did for part 1. I guess I'll let y'all know on Monday. Y'all have a Great Weekend!

And BOOM! All righty then, I got the plot issues worked out for next weeks pages. Heh, heh, heh. Apparently, I have discovered that the brush function in photoshop has more than just 'brush'. It has all sorts of splattered and stuff. I must abuse this function in future pages. I don't know if anyone has noticed but I've 'flattened' the tones. I used to add more detail as it were. I've taken to just adding a single tone to whatever's on the page. The only exceptions are Judah and the assorted skin tones. No real reason, aside from maybe simplfying the art. I may not get close to Alex Toth territory but as I notice more and more artists I like, like Chris Samnee, Brian Hurtt and Tonci Zonjic, have a stripped down style that doesn't skip on emotion and action. I want to try and get close to that. We'll see.

Oh, and we are at page 150, and I have no idea how far I am in this story. Are all of y'all having fun so far? Drop me a line if you are or aren't. I'd like to hear from y'all regardless.

Oh, and Go Buy Some Comics!
