So, first off, I usually type these blogs the day before. Or more specifically, the night before. I just noticed I've been putting those dates on these posts this week.

So I am now, four days from the big B-Day and 2 before I take my vacation. Even better.

No one's commenting on my card design as of yet. I noticed some simple changes I can make to the design to vastly improve it. All the stuff on there is the stuff that'll be on there. I'm planning the next two weeks out in my head movies. (Sorry, just remmbered that line from Tropic Thunder, or to be precise the movie Simple Jack.) And again, only three pages this week. Next week, I should be back up to four. It's mostly what I'll be doing on my vacation. That and taking naps.

I mean reading. I finished all the Power-Man & Iron Fists I have. Fun stuff. Great art by Kerry Gammil, Ernie Chan and early works from Denys Cowan and Greg LaRoque. Some of the stories felt like 'gotta get something out this month' and a lot of reduntant information going on. We get it. Luke Cage: steel skin, 300lbs of super strength. Iron Fist: Trained 10 years in K'un L'un. For a guy who'se been trained for a decade in a mystical city to be living weapon, Iron Fist seems to get knocked out a lot in these comics. Currently working my way through the Weird Westerns, with Jonah Hex and then Scalphunter. Fun stuff.

All right then, everyone have a great weekend! Go buy some comics!

Birthday: 6 days and counting. Vacation: 3 days and counting. Spent monday night not drawing, but designing a new business card.

Very preliminary, but I like the overall design thingy I got going. I may flip the site/e-mail info so you can, theoretically, see it in your card holder in your wallet. I just put it together quickly, but y'all all want one for your wallet, don't you? I do like that image of Judah, from page 1. It's a good intro to the character. Well done. I should pay the artist more. Baaahhh! Like he needs to eat. The ungrateful jerk. He should be happy for the opportunity.

And here is the flyer that was at Strip-Con.

Not to bad for about twenty minutes of work. Most of that was figuring out where exactly the web address would go. I probably could have adjusted things a bit better, and added some texture but I think all in all it would get people to at least come check me out. I guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks if it works.

Birthday: 7 days and counting.

And for the bad new, this week will only be three pages. Sorry about that. This 37 consecutive days of over a 100 degrees has slowly been sapping my strength. What with a truck with no air-conditioning and my house not wanting to cool down all that much, my energy is slowly ebbing away. Blech. However, my vacation starts on Friday so I should get a head start on the next two weeks. Theoretically. Did a little changey-changey with the site. Still a work in progress.

Got in to late to pull the Flyer Image and post it. Sorry 'bout that. But if any of y'all are at Strip Con let me know how it looks. And then tell every one at the Con of the best web-comic they aren't reading. Meaning mine. I noticed I misspelled LIENNE's name in yesterday's post.

Damn, I do so hate tipos.

Right now my birthday wish is for a nice cooling rain on my birthday weekend. Everyday it's a degree higher than the day before. By the end of August, no one in North Texas will care if it gets any hotter. All are brains will have melted by then.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

I was going to show you the flyer I (very quickly) designed for Strip Con, but when I got home I started to plot out next weeks pages instead. I'll post it....sometime. Soon, I promise.

And I'm still working on getting Liene's face 'right', but it still seems to get away from me. Yesterday's was fine. I'm not sure if I have her character down entirely yet. Comic art is always a work in progress. I think I'm getting closer.
