Got nothing. I'm hard at work on next week's batch of pages.
Well, two are in the computer ready for hair and make-up. The
other two...are still on my drawing board ready to be...made.
But a couple of ideas of what happens. I'm going to throw them
in a cage with lead pipes and boards with nails on them to see
who wins. I got my story in broad stroke form and am making the
little details as I go. Got some cool ideas. Let's see who wins.
Have a great weekend, Everybody!

Still tired. I think I have 'convention crud'. Or just my
sinuses are acting up. Okay, I came to a decision about my web-comic.
It's still continuing, my loyal five or six readers, but some
things are changing up. Instead of five days a week, there will
be four day of weeks of strips. It's just wearing me out, and
I want to do the best story for all of y'all.

Still tired today. Made the mistake of running errands this
early afternoon. Saw people spontaneous combust as I drove around.
It was amusing, until I remembered, "Hey, I'm People! That
could happen to me!" So I came on home and tried to keep
cool. Got half a page drawn. Moving slow regardless of the heat
outside. Still tired even after a much needed nap. Tomorrow is
another day off and hopefully more pages drawn. Luckily after
the con, I only have to work three days this week, so I should,
theoretically, get some drawing done.
As I type this I notice a typo of two on the above page.
I'll correct later.

AAAAnnnddddd, I am so very, very tired. What a long, tiring,
fun weekend that was A-Kon past. I saw nothing I wanted to purchase.
No new movies or anime or toys that made me want to purchase,
but there were a lot of pretty, pretty girls. Unfortunately,
many were WAY to young. But people came into our booth and spent
money. But as I said before I am tired, and am going to wrap
this up.I'm going to get some drawing done....As soon as I can
focus my eyes. Later.

A-KON. Fun to say, fun to go to. I will be loading and unloading
for the convention today, and then working, working, working
it for the weekend. I hope we get a lot of spenders this weekend.
Me? I gots no money. 'Sides the only thing I'd want to get is
not out. They made a live-action Star Blazers movie that got
released in December in Japan. Or as they called it, 'Space Battleship
Yamato'. Can't find it on bit-torrent sites because it's just
getting released on DVD in Japan sometime this month. Last year,
I didn't buy anything neither.

Okay, then. Tomorrow will be the last page of the week. Again,
sorry about that. I tried to get an extra page done, but it just
couldn't happen. However, I did put four pages of Skip Week together
for next week. So I hope y'all enjoy that. And I don't know what
happened, but in May my readership leapt from 40 or so awesome
people to 174. I hope that wasn't a glitch and some of those
people come back and stay with me. I think I'm telling a good
story and we haven't begun to scratch the surface of what is
going to happen.
As a matter of fact, "The Mind of Morgathu" is only
the first of a trilogy of stories I have planned. And 'Mind'
is only into the first couple of chapters at that. So keep reading.

For a page with a bunch of simplicity, this took me the longest.
Oh, the foreground was done and some of the tree tops were finished
also. It was that damn Aetherial that I had the trouble with.
I went through a bunch of designs. Humanoid, bison-esque, Sable-like,
nothing really clicked. I knew roughly what I wanted, but unfortunately
it was too rough too be put down right away. Everytime I came
close too what you see here. But something nagged at me, and
I couldn't put my finger on it until my subconcious tapped me
on the back of my head.
I went to my animation section of my books. The design book
for the anime 'Princess Mononoke', specifically. There's a character
called the Night Walker. Towering over trees, inscrutable, mystical.
The Night Walker looks vaguely catfishy and more transulcent
though. And is animated. Every so often your imagination works
so hard, it gets tired and it sometimes gives you someone else's
good idea or design. As long as it happens only so often. |
